Important COVID-19 IT Support Information

To all YMCA staff,

In keeping with the strategy of maintaining the health and wellness of our staff, your IT Department will make some small process changes to reduce any travel risks for the near future. I’d like to share what this means for you and your staff and offer up a few tips for making the most of Office 365.

  • Non-critical, new PC/Laptop installs (low impact) – We are experiencing some availability issues with our tech vendors due to supply chain issues related to the coronavirus. As you can guess, all of our new PC’s/Laptops originate in China. We will evaluate each new equipment request and work with you to determine the priority – if it can wait or we have another option, we’ll take the path with least risk, and best service, for all.

  • Critical break/fix on existing PC’s and Laptop’s that impact your work (high impact) – it’s business as usual, however; we will make every attempt to solve your issue remotely before heading out on a site visit.

  • Branch Site Down (high impact) – When a branch is down with no connection to critical operations systems, your IT team will work to restore services as soon as possible with no changes in our current support procedures.  We will work with the internet and telephone providers and will visit the branch, as needed, to restore connectivity as quickly as possible.

  • Application Support (high impact) – your IT team is online and available to help with any issue you may have.  While we don’t foresee issues with any of our cloud-based systems, we’re at the ready to solve any issues that come up.

Please keep the support requests coming to Help Desk and I encourage you to visit our Support Page for detailed information on accessing Y technology systems and FAQs

We’re blessed to have some cool tools to handle most support requests remotely, and our goal is to maintain a high level of service with minimal impact to you, your teams and our members.

We will be constantly reevaluating the COVAD-19/Coronavirus situation as it develops and will be following the CDC guidelines as well as the directives from our EHS Team and HR Departments.

Updates to follow as the situation develops.

For updates on current and upcoming tools and resources to better assist you with your work, both in branch or remotely, please take a look at our Remote Work Resource section.
